2008
n June 18, 2008 I visited the Burn Camp. It was a sunny, beautiful day. There were about 400 people and I was able to be with some of the campers, counselors and staff. Walking through the campgrounds and hearing many people talk about how great the camp is made me feel good.
2007 On June 20, 2007 I was able to go to Visitor’s Day at the Burn Camp. It was a beautiful day and I met so many campers and counselors. The parade had many many fire trucks from all over Chicagoland. After the parade we all had lunch and then I met firefighters from all over and then I saw a short film about fire safety. It was a very emotional day but I am so glad I was there. I wouldn’t have missed it.
2006 In June, 2006 I visited the Burn Camp for the first time. Unfortunately, it rained on Visitor’s Day. The parade was canceled, but I did get to play volleyball with the campers and watch them play “four square”. I was also able to see the kayaks, boats, and the lake that some of the kids have activities on. It was so nice to see the camp grounds where they have a great week of fun. Seeing the kids at the camp puts a smile on my face.
