My name is Brittany Bosca and I am 14 years old. I’ve been raising money for the past 9 years for the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance Burn Camp. This camp is for children who are burn survivors aged 8-16 years old. When I was 6 years old, I raised $235 by selling Sno-Cones. I wanted to give the money to children but didn’t know exactly how. Many of the firefighters from our local firehouse which is 1129 West Chicago Firehouse are very good friends of mine.
Captain Paul Stauffer suggested donating the money to the Burn Camp and I thought that was such a great idea! With the support of the Firefighters, Fleet Management (they’re the ones that repair city vehicles), friends, sponsors, family and neighbors, I’ve been able to donate more than $50,000 to the Burn Camp over the past 8 years.

This year, I am going to have my 9th Annual Sno-Cone Benefit on Saturday July 24th, 2010, Chicago, IL. from 11am - 5pm. It’s always right in front of my house and I have so many fantastic flavors. There are regular flavors like grape, cherry and orange but sometimes there are different flavors like granny smith apple, cotton candy, Cajun red hot, and I always like to have a surprise flavor as well.

Many local firefighters, paramedics, neighbors, family and friends came last year. It’s so much fun, and 100% of everything donated is given to the Burn Camp. I really look forward the benefit every year!
